How to cook perfect soft boiled eggs

Ah Sok taught me this tip over the weekend how to cook perfect soft boiled eggs. 'Perfect' meaning having the egg-white evenly cooked and not being partial liquid and partial solid. After putting the eggs in hot water for about 4 minutes, take them out and let them cool for 1-2 minutes. The residual heat from the egg travels in 2 directions, inwards and outwards. The outward travelling heat will escape into the surroundings. The inward travelling heat cooks the inner part of the egg. This is the secret to Ya Kun Kaya Toast's nice soft boiled eggs.
